Happiness comes from Sears

Our little canister vacuum died last week, having performed rather well for over 5 years. Niki bought it while we were still dating. It was a light-weight little guy, but it didn't have a lot of suction, nor a brush head to really get at stuff deep in the carpet. On top of that, the cats leave their fur on the couches, so they need to be cleaned regularly.

So, because I am such a geek, I looked in one of my Consumer Reports and we found the vac of our dreams. Light enough for Niki to take upstairs, hand tools on-board, a powered hand brush to do upholstery and stairs, and a power vacuum head that rocks.

Not an hour after we brought it home yesterday afternoon, had the cats knocked a heavy decorative glass bowl off of the 6' tall entertainment center onto the lining room floor, shattering it to about billion little shards.

Our new vacuum found every last little skin-piercing, bare-foot bleeding, micro chip in the carpet. Ahhh, piece of mind and glass free.

Niki said that I was "such a little nerd" about the whole episode. To be fair, Niki was really proud of me and wasn't making fun of me at all. With such a state-of-the-art domestic powertool at hand, who could help but get a little giddy.
