New Outfit
New Game
Addie has stumbled upon a fun new game! It's called "drop my toy and watch mommy pick it up again." Really, I don't mind because it is fun to watch her learn new things- even the fun facts of cause and affect. She repeats the same cycle over and over: suck on the toy, hold it out to the side, carefully release it from her hand, and look to mommy to pick it up and start the cycle again. What fun!

We celebrated Mother's Day with my parents in town and had such a nice time. On mother's day, my dad and Greg cooked us lunch and washed all the dishes and took care of everything all day! What a treat!

The Sleeping Fairy Comes to our House
You thought "Sleepy" was one of the seven dwarfs? Oh no, he's a wonderful fairy that came to our house and snapped his magic wand over Addie's crib!
Addie has finally begun to consistently sleep through the night! Hooooooray!

Happy Mother's Day! Pt.1
As Mother’s Day approaches this year and we begin to understand what it is to be a parent, we have been struck by all the things are mothers did for us that they were never thanked for. So we’d like to say “THANK YOU MOM” for the following:
-giving birth. ‘nuff said.
-changing approximately 4,032 diapers
-cleaning up our poop, pee, snot, boogers, and vomit
-you drug us to the doctor, held us while we cried, comforted us the rest of the day… all so we could have shots that would keep us from getting sick
-you read the same children’s story over and over until it was memorized
-you packed us up and took us to the zoo, aquarium, park, and museum, then pushed us in the stroller while we slept through it all
-you gave up remembering things relating to your own interests so that you could remember our current shoe size, pants size, food preferences, allergies, and the date of our last shots
-you played the role of Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy
-you cooked approximately 17,280 meals for us
-you cleaned our bloody cuts and scrapes
-you changed the sheets on our bed in the middle of the night from accidents and sickness
-you got us washed, brushed and dressed for church about 400 times
-you played referee and first responder, asking such questions as “Who did it?,” “How did this happen?,” and “Is this a life threatening emergency?”
-you had about 4,000 phone calls interrupted
-you told us things like “no one even noticed,” “you’ll get it next time,” “I still love you,” and “tomorrow will be better.”
-you befriended our friends, made them comfortable at our house, talked to their parents, and drove us around
-you endured hours of horrible sounds while we learned to play an instrument
-you risked your own life to ride in the car with us while we learned to drive
-you let us go off to live in another state and never call you often enough
-you treated our spouse with love and care and embraced them as part of the family
Happy Mother's Day! Pt.2
And of special consideration for the "Mother of the Universe" award, we would like to nominate the following actions:
-Niki was a very stubborn kid. Her mom once had to sit on her in order to pull out an extremely loose tooth. She also endured crying screaming tantrums every time she left Niki with a babysitter for who knows how many years.
-Greg’s mom brought chocolate shakes to school for him for a week when he had his teeth pulled in eighth grade (she would go early and leave them in the cafeteria for him)
-Niki’s mom shut down her whole life to home school her child so she wouldn’t get behind in school while ill
-Greg's mom took him sky diving for his 18th birthday and jumped out of the plane too
-When Niki broke her collarbone in high school, her mom did everything- I mean everything- for her for months.
-Greg’s mom not only made our wedding cake, she brought most of it on dry ice from Phoenix, then baked the top in an "Otis Spunkmeyer" cookie oven in her hotel room, and immediately after our ceremony rushed to the reception to assemble the whole thing!
We love you both so much and are so thankful you are our moms!!!!!!
