No Thank You For This..a rebuttal from Greg

Daddy thinks this is funny.... I don't really think so.

Ok people, listen to me. For those of you that were concerned about Addie (read; Grandma Linda and Auntie Kim), I assure you that she is fine. In fact, when I am pushing up on her cheeks, she has SO much cheek that it squishes her eyes closed. Her face has a lot of elasticity, these days, so doing cute things like this are to be expected. In fact, I thinks that she would be MORE annoyed when grandparent-types pinch those cute round globes of baby chub. GS.Posted by Picasa

Vacuum Power

There is no doubt that Addie is a very powerful eater. We have been otherwise unable to demonstrate her suction, but let me tell you, I thought I was going to lose my thumbnail. Imagine the forces exerted on tissue that isn't up to the task. Ouch! Posted by Picasa

The Monkey is My Friend

When I'm in my bouncy seat, I spend a lot of time staring at this little monkey hanging in front of me. I think he is so interesting! Posted by Picasa

A Quilt From Mia

Niki's mom's cousin, Mia Rozmyn, is an exceptional quilter. She recently sent a special quilt she made for Addie. As you can see in the close-up shot, the quilting pattern over each large square is a circle of hearts. Also, if you look closely, you can see the beautiful swirly pattern of quilting around the edge of the quilt. Unfortunately, what a picture doesn't show is that quilted along one edge of the quilt are the words "For Adelyn Grace Spangler, December 15, 2005." What an amazing gift! We aren't sure if we want Addie to touch it.

The Murray's Visit

Nate and Ashley came over to see Addie for the first time. While Addie wasn't her cutest, it was a wonderful visit with them. Posted by Picasa

Fascinating!

I may not be able to use my hands yet, but I am mentally solving Daddy's puzzle toy. Posted by Picasa

Addie's First Smile

Today (Sunday, January 15th) Addie gave her Daddy the ultimate priveledge- to receive the first smile! (In fact there were 3 or 4 or them, which is how we got a picture of the big moment)

Addie's Likes and Dislikes

Addie's personality is emerging and we are beginning to learn her likes and dislikes. The top picture shows her being held on her tummy by our friend Erica, which she likes. Next you see her in her bouncy seat- another like. The third picture shows her during "tummy time"- NOT a like for sure. But the last picture combines two likes- Daddy and sitting upright.
Other Likes: the sound of the ocean, taking baths, being swaddled, and riding in the car or the stroller.
Dislikes: Diaper changes, wet clothes, being held horizontally on her back (on her front is a different story, see the picture with Erica above).

Who Does She Look Like?

Of course, we are all wondering who does Addie look like? Well, we had thought she looked like Niki due to the big chubby cheeks, but after viewing Greg's baby pictures, we see a strong Spangler resemblance. Here is a picture of Niki (above) and Greg (below) as newborns. We'll let you be the judge...
