Happy Mother's Day! Pt.1

As Mother’s Day approaches this year and we begin to understand what it is to be a parent, we have been struck by all the things are mothers did for us that they were never thanked for. So we’d like to say “THANK YOU MOM” for the following:

-giving birth. ‘nuff said.
-changing approximately 4,032 diapers
-cleaning up our poop, pee, snot, boogers, and vomit
-you drug us to the doctor, held us while we cried, comforted us the rest of the day… all so we could have shots that would keep us from getting sick
-you read the same children’s story over and over until it was memorized
-you packed us up and took us to the zoo, aquarium, park, and museum, then pushed us in the stroller while we slept through it all

-you gave up remembering things relating to your own interests so that you could remember our current shoe size, pants size, food preferences, allergies, and the date of our last shots
-you played the role of Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy
-you cooked approximately 17,280 meals for us
-you cleaned our bloody cuts and scrapes
-you changed the sheets on our bed in the middle of the night from accidents and sickness
-you got us washed, brushed and dressed for church about 400 times
-you played referee and first responder, asking such questions as “Who did it?,” “How did this happen?,” and “Is this a life threatening emergency?”
-you had about 4,000 phone calls interrupted

-you told us things like “no one even noticed,” “you’ll get it next time,” “I still love you,” and “tomorrow will be better.”
-you befriended our friends, made them comfortable at our house, talked to their parents, and drove us around
-you endured hours of horrible sounds while we learned to play an instrument
-you risked your own life to ride in the car with us while we learned to drive
-you let us go off to live in another state and never call you often enough
-you treated our spouse with love and care and embraced them as part of the family
