Big Bear for the Day

Greg had the day off on Monday and we decided to do something interesting. We decided to go somewhere that we'd never gone before. Why not Big Bear?
If you aren't familiar with Big Bear, it's a town east of us in the mountains. Mainly, it's popular for winter sports. But there is also a lake that makes it good for camping in the summer. What is it like in Spring? we wondered.

Veeeery quiet. That's what it's like.

We thought it would take us about 2 hours to get there, but it was more like 2 1/2. Addie conked out for part of the drive there.

Look! Nature!

Being that there isn't much to do in Big Bear if you're not skiing, or camping, and you have a tired toddler who doesn't want to be in the car anymore....

We checked out their little section of shops for tourists.

Didn't find much.

So we took pictures in front of wooden bears.

Though Big Bear didn't blow our socks off, we did have a fun time just being together. The weather was beautiful and we got to get our heads above the smog and enjoy some clean air! It was fun just to try something new!

Oh- did you miss the wonderful zoo they have there? We were just there a few months ago and the zoo was a blast!

My question is this.... just how many pairs of shoes does your daughter own? She's got a different pair on in almost every picture on your blog... :)
