My Wedding Gift

Who knew? I'd go to my sister's wedding and I'D get a gift!
God is so good! My friend from highschool, Melissa Spaid, came up from Nashville to do the flowers for the wedding. Getting to spend time with her was the highlight of my whole trip!
Now, the flowers were beautiful beyond anyone's expectations.
These were the centerpieces on the reception tables.
You can also scroll down to an earlier wedding post to see the bouquets...

But the best part was just Melissa. We hadn't seen each other in about 5 years, even though we keep in touch regularly.
Melissa's love for the Lord and for her family make her a refreshing spirit! It is always a joy to hear how she and her husband Tyler are enjoying their church and their life in Nashville.

The icing on the cake is that we had our daughters just a few months apart, so we hit a lot of the same milestones at the same time.
Here we are with Maggie and Addie at church the next day.
We took them both into the cry room because traveling children aren't the most flexible for being put in the nursery. They played quietly and happily all the way through church. What good girls!
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery- so Maggie- be flattered. Addie has never before sucked her thumb, but since Maggie was doing it, she thought it might be a good idea to try. Copy cat! (She hasn't done it since, by the way).

By the way, if you'd like to see more pictures of Melissa's flowers, visit her blog by clicking here. You can also from there go to her other blog of just wedding flowers and be blown away by her talent!
